Anything can stain a mattress. Instead of leaving the stains there, you should clean it immediately. Different micro organisms such as molds, bacteria, germs and allergens can easily take up residence in your stained mattress. Unless you are prepared to spend more than a thousand bucks on a new mattress, you should keep your current one clean all the time.

Let me tell you some tips on how to easily clean your mattress:

1. Water can actually help remove some mattress stains easily. But the temperature of the water is crucial. For instance, if your mattress has fresh blood stains, using hot water can set the stains faster. For fresh blood stains, remove it using cold water. But if you are getting rid of dried blood stains, use hot water. This is the same case in oil andgrease stains. Oil and grease hardens up in cold water. If you want to dissolve them easily, use hot water.

2. Acid-based cleaning solutions like lemon juice and white vinegar works. These cleaning solutions also disinfect the mattress. If you have food, sweat and liquid stains, mix one cup of lemon juice or white vinegar with one cup of water. Put the solution in a spray bottle. Spray the solution on the stained areas of your mattress. If you want to disinfect your whole mattress, spray the solution on all sides of the mattress. Allow it to dry hair dryer. You can also leave it in a sunny and airy place to dry up.

3. Household cleaning solutions also work. Hydrogen peroxide is usedto clean wounds. But you can also use this to remove blood. Mix one part hydrogen peroxide with one part water and apply it on the affected area. Sprinkle salt on it. This will help absorb the blood. Another trick you can try is liquid dishwashing liquids. This cleaning product gets rid of oil-based stains.

4. Ink stains can be removed by milk. Absorbent paper towel soaked in milk and put it on the ink-stained parts of the mattress. The ink will loosen up easily. Wipe it out with fresh towel and clean the mattress completely using the vinegar or lemon juice trick.

These are easier ways to get rid of mattress stains. Should you have stain problems, you now have a better idea of what to do with those stains.
